Favourite time of year to visit Sintra

"You will be walking a lot to explore this medieval town, so I guess it’s a perfect autumn/winter trip. Can’t imagine how hot it gets in summer!"

What do you love most about Sintra?

"Sintra’s palaces and castles are honestly stunning… It feels like you’re on a Disney movie set! I loved how they decorated the inside of the palaces with the famous azulejos. "

". Don’t queue to see the inside of Peña Palace, it’s not worth it! . Try to spend a few days there, I loved Sintra by night!"

"Trying one of their famous travesseiros, also called the Sintra’s pillows! It’s a typical dessert made with puff pastry, egg yolks and almonds… it’s delicious! "

"Well, I spent 2 full days and wished I had an extra one as I truly loved Sintra. But honestly, even a day trip from Lisbon can get you to see most of the famous attractions in town."

"If it's not already included in your tour, you must go on an overnight desert tour! The first part is guided in a comfortable, air-conditioned tour bus. The journey has many stops for photo ops and sightseeing, before reaching the desert."

Tips on how to navigate the markets?

"Marrakesh is FULL of markets where many stalls sell the same products. Therefore take a walk around, ask about prices and don’t be shy to barter! You may score a great deal!"
